Felipe Massa is confident that Williams can continue their strong form into next weekend's German Grand Prix after the team scored another podium finish at Silverstone.

Massa, who set the fastest time on the first day of testing at the British track, believes that Williams, now fourth in the Constructors' championship, has a good package for the race at Hockenheim.

"I think honestly the car was so competitive during the race," he told media, including F1Zone.net, after topping the times at Silverstone.

"We couldn’t be so competitive during practice as we changed something on the set-up which was not positive and then we went back to the car we had in Austria and it was competitive in the race.

"Unfortunately not for me as I couldn’t do the race but it was a very positive result for us as it shows the car was the quickest car in Canada, apart from Mercedes, second quickest in Austria and even here, so it’s really positive for us so I hope we get to Germany and have the second quickest team. This can be very important to recuperate the points and put us in the big fight for the top three position on the constructors' championship.

Massa also believes that the race at Hockenheim is likely to suit the FW36 more than the following weekend's event at the Hungaroring.

"I think Germany is a little bit more similar to maybe between here [Silverstone] and Canada, Hungary is different, the engine counts a lot less in Hungary, a lot of corners where you need a good downforce," he said.

"Maybe it can be the car can be more competitive in Germany than Hungary but new things for Hungary should make the car better for this type of track so I hope we can be competitive everywhere from now."
