Felipe Massa says a few minor issues cost him a chance of a top five finish at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Massa started the race in tenth place and finished the race three places further ahead in seventh.

"The pace was very good. At the beginning I had a problem at the first corner, I lost four positions and then I was behind these cars so I couldn’t show the pace," he said.

"I needed to overtake these cars and I managed to do it, then the pace was good. Because I stopped too early for sure the pace at the end of the second stint was not great because I had older tyres but on the hard tyres after was very good."

Massa added that the biggest problem came at the start, when he had to take evasive action from Romain Grosjean.

"I think the car was good. The biggest problem was losing lot of positions in the first corner because Grosjean went outside of the track and then he came over my car so I had to brake, not to lose the front wing."

"Then I had few laps with the steering [dash] completely black, not working anything. At the beginning of the race it was a problem, but the car was in a good direction to finish easily on top five."
