Pastor Maldonado has stressed that consistency will help Williams in the second half of the season.

Speaking ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, Maldonado - whose 29 points have come in just two of the eleven events - was optimistic about the second part of the season.

"The most important thing will be the consistency for the team. Some tracks have been better, some not so good but we have still usually been in the top ten. "

"The development has been good and I have to have a good chance in the second half of the season."

When asked about his targets for the rest of the year, Maldonado said that consistency will be key.

"I never had a target, I always try and do my best every time. But I think we have a great potential, the car is quick but we need to work harder than before and improve. We need to be more consistent and move forwards, particularly in qualifying."

Maldonado also confirmed that remaining with Williams is his number one option for 2013.
