Former McLaren driver Kevin Magnussen will test for Porsche's World Endurance Championship squad in Spain next month.
Magnussen raced for McLaren in 2014 but was dropped in favour of Jenson Button for 2015, though remained with the Woking-based squad in a test and reserve driver role.
McLaren confirmed earlier this month that it has opted not to retain Magnussen next season, with GP2 champion Stoffel Vandoorne set to fill the role of test and reserve driver.
Magnussen's options in Formula 1 next year appeared slim in the wake of his McLaren fate, with his prospects reduced further after Lotus confirmed the promotion of Jolyon Palmer in 2016.
Magnussen will now have the opportunity to sample Porsche's Le Mans winning 919 Hybrid machine, alongside McLaren tester Oliver Turvey and GP2 racer Mitch Evans.
