Alex Lynn was left satisfied after receiving his first test outing with Williams at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Wednesday.

GP2 driver Lynn, who occupies a development role with the squad, completed 52 laps in the Mercedes-powered FW37 and ended running with the fifth quickest time.

"I think it’s been extremely special, really pleased with how it went, I got through the whole programme, got a nice feeling for the car, it was very positive," he said.

Lynn added that it took him a while to get up to speed with Williams' 2015 machine.

"I always underestimate the power of the car; the power unit produces an extreme amount of power compared to anything I’ve ever driven, a lot of grip as you’d expect from a Grand Prix team like Williams," he said.

"It took me quite a long time to get comfortable with the car because it is very different to anything I've ever driven so I wouldn’t say until the last few runs that I was really on top of it.

"It was nice to push the car to its limits and we were setting quick laps towards the end."
