Lorenzo tests GP2 car

By on Wednesday, March 14, 2012

He may be a champion on two wheels, but Jorge Lorenzo has followed in the footsteps of fellow MotoGP champions Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner by testing a four-wheeled machine.

Lorenzo, 24, tested a Barwa Addax GP2 car at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia. The Spaniard tweeted the news to his followers earlier in the day, before taking to the track in the V8 powered chassis.

The 2010 MotoGP champion will return to two wheels for the final pre-season test in Jerez next weekend but he isn't the first motorcyclist to venture outside of bikes.

Valentino Rossi has previously tested for Ferrari while reigning champion Casey Stoner tested a V8 supercar at the end of last season.
