Lewis Hamilton said his Mercedes W07 Hybrid was difficult to drive after he was caught up in a first corner collision at the Chinese Grand Prix.
Hamilton started from last place on the grid due to an MGU-H failure in qualifying but tangled with Felipe Nasr at Turn 2.
The collision caused damage to Hamilton's car and he was forced to pit for repairs, before recovering through the field to finish seventh.
"It was definitely a difficult one," Hamilton told reporters after the race.
"I got a good start, that's always difficult starting from the back, getting caught up in things. I tried to avoid what was ahead of me, but got tangled in it.
"After I just tried to battle through, but every time I stopped I had to come through [the field] again, I wasn't gaining ground, and at the end there weren't enough tyres.
"That's racing, not a great finish, but hopefully onwards and upwards. I'm sure some aerodynamic components were damaged, but I think the suspension was as well. The car was flexing like crazy, like a four-poster bed today."
