Romain Grosjean hailed an 'incredible' weekend for Lotus as he returned to the podium for the first time since 2013.
Grosjean started from ninth place on the grid but worked his way through to fourth place during the final few laps, as he hunted down Sebastian Vettel.
Vettel, trying to run a one stop strategy, suffered a tyre failure on the penultimate lap, promoting Grosjean into third place.
"It has been an incredible weekend for us, great qualifying yesterday but we had the penalty" he said referring to a gearbox sanction which relegated him from fourth to ninth.
"I still can’t believe we’re on the podium, to give us that car, going to Turn 1 of course everyone remembers 2012 but it made me stronger, and now 10 times on the podium - today it’s special for us."
Grosjean says that third position shows that Lotus is capable of building a strong car.
"[It was] probably one of my best race ever, I remember Austin a long time ago, it’s been up and down... here for me in 2012, was a tough time, but it helped me to become better today and to be on the podium today, it shows how strong our car is and how capable we are of building a [good] car, I enjoyed every minute and if we can do it again that’s good."
