Force India has confirmed that it will not participate in the opening test of the pre-season campaign in Jerez.
The Silverstone-based squad had revealed earlier in the month that it would be delaying the introduction of its VJM08 until the second test in Barcelona, which begins on February 19th.
The team had originally planned to use the VJM07, the 2014 car, at Jerez this week but has now abandoned that concept.
"We have chosen not to run the old (2014) car in Jerez," Force India confirmed on its Twitter account.
"The learning opportunities would have been limited so the focus is now on Barcelona."
The squad unveiled its new-look 2015 livery during an official launch in Mexico City last week.
The VJM08 will be raced by Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez.
Force India's absence means that just eight teams will be present for the four day gathering in southern Spain.
