Force India says that the introduction of its VJM08 is likely to be delayed further, with the car unlikely to hit the circuit until the final pre-season test in Spain.

The squad, which unveiled its new livery and amended front end design in Mexico last month, has skipped this week's test at Jerez but intended to debut the VJM08 during the next set of group outings at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

But the squad has now confirmed that it is unlikely that the VJM08 will be ready in time for the next test, which takes place at the home of the Spanish Grand Prix from February 19 to 22.

"Although everybody is working towards getting the VJM08 to the next test session in Barcelona, it's more likely the new car will appear at the final Barcelona test," the team said on Wednesday.

"So, that would mean running the 2014 car at the first Barcelona test."

Force India originally planned to test its 2014 car at Jerez this week but abandoned those plans, leaving eight squads to make up the numbers in southern Spain.
