Force India pairing Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez believe the VJM07 will be better suited to Hockenheim after a difficult time at the previous event in Britain.

Hulkenberg qualified in fourth on the grid but slipped to eighth by the finish, while team-mate Perez crossed the line in 11th after a first lap collision with Jean-Eric Vergne.

Hulkenberg is sure the Silverstone-based team can enjoy a more fruitful round at his home race in Germany this weekend.

"Even on tracks where we have been struggling slightly, we have managed to score points," he said.

"For example, in Silverstone the car balance was not ideal, but we still came away with four points. I’m feeling more positive about our performance in Germany, especially with the return of the soft and supersoft tyres"

Perez echoed Hulkenberg's comments and was encouraged by the squad's progress at last week's test.

"It was good to have the chance to understand some of the issues that affected us during the race weekend," he said of the post-race test at Silverstone.

"We also tested new aero parts on the car and the team will look at the data to decide whether we use them in Germany. I believe Hockenheim will be a very different situation; it's a track that should suit our car better and we should be in a much stronger position."
