Di Resta is set to make his debut in Bahrain

Force India will announce their driver line up for the 2011 season in less than 48 hours time.

Paul di Resta is set to join Adrian Sutil as a race driver for this year after Force India confirmed on Monday that they will conduct a news conference at the headquarters of Whyte & Mackay - one of their sponsors - in Glasgow, Scotland this coming Wednesday.

Di Resta, cousin of IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti, was the teams test driver in 2010 and impressed many with his speed and technical feedback. The Scot also beat Sebastian Vettel to the 2006 F3 Euroseries title and claimed the DTM crown last season with Mercedes.

Di Resta beat reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel to the F3 Euroseries title in 2006.

The deal is set to end Vitantonio Liuzzi's hopes of staying in the sport, despite his manager saying he has a deal to remain with Force India. The Italian disappointed in 2010 and is likely to drop off the radar for the time being.

The team is also expected to name Nico Hulkenberg as di Resta's replacement as third driver.
