The FIA will meet with Force India ahead of Friday's opening practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix to review the five place grid penalty for Sergio Perez.

Perez was handed a five place grid drop for this weekend's race at the Red Bull Ring after stewards deemed the Mexican to be the guilty party in a last lap collision with Felipe Massa in Canada.

Force India confirmed on Thursday that they will be appealing the decision after discovering a 'new element' which was not available to the stewards in Canada.

A hearing will take place at 9am on Friday with the FIA to determine whether the new element is credible information.

If it is determined that it is, then a new hearing into the incident will take place with the stewards in Austria following Friday practice, with both Force India and Williams in attendance.
