Ferrari has confirmed that it has retained Kimi Raikkonen for the 2017 season, after months of speculation surrounding the Finn's future.
Raikkonen's contract expired at the end of 2016 but Ferrari announced on Friday morning that he will continue alongside Sebastian Vettel for a further season.
"Scuderia Ferrari announces that it has renewed its technical and racing agreement with Kimi Raikkonen," read a statement issued by Ferrari.
"The driver line-up for the 2017 racing season will still consist of the Finnish driver and Sebastian Vettel."
Raikkonen raced for Ferrari between 2007 and 2009, collecting the world championship during his first year with the squad.
Following a two-year stint in the World Rally Championship and two seasons with Lotus, Raikkonen returned to Ferrari in 2014.
