Ferrari F2012 leaves for Jerez

By on Friday, February 3, 2012

On Friday after its launch, the Ferrari F2012 set off on its journey to make its on-track debut at the first pre-season testing session, which is scheduled to begin on February 7 in Jerez, Spain.

The F2012 was due to be officially launched at Maranello but was cancelled following heavy snowfall in the area. The team instead unveiled its 2012 challenger live on the internet and published the first images of the F2012 on their official website. After the online launch, the car was then returned to the Car Assembly area where the final touches were put on it.

After the launch, the car was loaded onto a high-speed transporter which then left for Jerez the same evening. The distance from Maranello to Jerez is approximately 2,200 kilometres and the car is scheduled to arrive at the circuit tomorrow night.

Several members of the team will already be in Jerez awaiting the arrival of the F2012, while most of the team members will fly out of Bologna on Sunday morning.
