Nasr eyeing 2014 F1 debut

Felipe Nasr is likely to make his F1 debut in 2014, according to Livio Oricchio, the respected correspondent for O Estado de S.Paulo newspaper.

The 20-year-old from Brazil is currently second in this year's GP2 championship, but in an interview with Oricchio he was cautious when talking about moving to F1.

"Of course we're not far from it, and there will be a time to start thinking about Formula One, but at the moment my concern is to finish this season well," he said.

"Because if I'm champion, it'll make my life easier," said Nasr.

Nasr has yet to win in GP2 this season but the Carlin driver's consistency - he has finished every race in the top four - means he sits as Stefano Coletti's nearest challenger, something he hopes Formula 1 teams will have noticed.

"I have worked my whole life to get there, and hopefully it will be next year," he said.

"With all the new rules, it is a very good time to debut."
