Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson and both Manor drivers have been reprimanded following incidents in the first practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix.

Ericsson was deemed to have crossed the white line while entering the pits though claimed he was affected by the turbulent air from Daniel Ricciardo’s Red Bull.

A representative from Red Bull confirmed that this was likely but stewards concluded that Ericsson should have been aware of Ricciardo’s presence.

Pascal Wehrlein was sanctioned after he did not stay above the minimum time during the Virtual Safety Car period.

Wehrlein claimed that he was surprised by how long it took him to enter the VSC speed, due to his location on a straight, and stewards thus reprimanded the youngster.

His Manor team-mate, Rio Haryanto, re-joined in a dangerous manner after spinning at Turn 8, and was also reprimanded.

For all three drivers it is their first reprimand of the 2016 campaign.
