Bernie-EcclestoneFormula 1 CEO Bernie Ecclestone says that he is in discussions with three parties over the potential sale of the sport before the end of the year.

CVC Capital Partners has held a controlling stake in the sport for a decade but Ecclestone suggested at the Camp Beckenbauer Global Summit that there could be a change on the horizon.

"There are shareholders at the moment in such a position where they have to lose some of their shares or all of them shortly," he explained.

"There has been a lot of interest and I would say there’s three parties at the moment that I’d be surprised if one of them don’t buy them shortly."

Ecclestone added that he expected any potential deal to be concluded this year.
