Rosberg stays ahead in second session

Mercedes Nico Rosberg maintained his advantage as he led the way during the second practice session for the German Grand Prix. Rosberg, on the Super Soft tyres, registered a time of 1:15.614, a tenth slower than his effort from the morning, to finish 0.394s up on Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Rosberg heads opening session in Germany

Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg set the quickest time during the first practice session for the returning German Grand Prix at Hockenheim. Rosberg’s time of 1:15.517, on the Super Soft tyres, was over a second quicker than his pole position time from two years ago, when Formula 1 last visited the circuit. Hamilton takes win, points lead, in Hungary

Lewis Hamilton controlled proceedings at the Hungarian Grand Prix to take his fifth victory of the season, moving into the lead of the championship for the first time this season. Championship leader Nico Rosberg collected pole position during a dramatic wet/dry qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Rosberg took top spot with a 1:19.965 as Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton had to back off when Fernando Alonso spun at Turn 9. Championship leader Nico Rosberg clocked the quickest time for Mercedes during the final practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, narrowly edging out Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
