Rosberg pips Verstappen in final practice

Nico Rosberg set the pace once again in the third and final practice session ahead of the Singapore GP, but Red Bull's Max Verstappen was within touching distance as Lewis Hamilton's scrappy weekend continued. Rosberg clocked a 1:44.352 on the ultrasoft rubber to finish quickest, but Verstappen was only six hundredths adrift with a very impressive lap, and one which suggests Mercedes may have a fight on their hands in qualifying. Rosberg beats Hamilton to Monza victory

Nico Rosberg capitalised on a disastrous start for team-mate Lewis Hamilton to take a comfortable win at the Italian Grand Prix and slash his team-mate's championship lead to just two points. Rosberg charged into the lead as Hamilton suffered a poor getaway and fell to sixth, and he ultimately went unchallenged en route to a second consecutive victory. Lewis Hamilton snatched the advantage heading into the Italian GP weekend by topping second practice ahead of Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg. Hamilton registered a 1:22.801 on the supersoft tyres to set the pace by just under two tenths of a second on a scorching afternoon at Monza. Nico Rosberg edged out Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton to set the pace in the opening practice session ahead of the Italian GP at Monza. Nico Rosberg held on in the face of an unexpected challenge from Red Bull's Max Verstappen to claim a crucial pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. Nico Rosberg secured pole position for his home race as he beat Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton during qualifying at Hockenheim. Rosberg recovered from an electronics issue on his first Q3 run to sweep to top spot with a time of 1:14.363. Nico Rosberg completed a clean sweep of practice sessions as he led the way during Saturday morning’s running at the German Grand Prix.
