Substitute Heidfeld tops Jerez Day 3

Nick Heidfeld set the perfect impression to Renault as he topped the timesheets on the third day of testing in Jerez. The German, 33, set his best time on the first lap of an eight lap stint, indicating that the lap was not a low fuel glory run. It is expected that Renault will field reserve driver Bruno Senna tomorrow, although Heidfeld is expected to be named as Kubica's replacement regardless of how the Brazilian performs.

Schumacher fastest in Jerez

Michael Schumacher has sent out a message to rivals during the second day of testing at Jerez, with the German beginning to answer the questions posed over the potential of his new MGP W02 challenger. After completing 112 laps of the Spanish circuit, Schumacher finished the day fractions quicker than former Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa.

Kubica: I will return to Formula One this season

Despite suffering a horrific injury in a rally accident on Sunday, Robert Kubica has said that he wants to return to Formula One this season. Kubica, 26, lost control on a right hand bend and caught a gap in the armco barrier, which ripped through the car. In the accident, he was left with just a litre of blood.

Talent should be stronger than money - Hulkenberg

Force India test and reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg believes that drivers in Formula One should be there based on their talent and ability rather than the size of their wallets. The German won several junior formulae titles - most notably in F3 Euroseries and GP2 - before graduating to Formula One in 2010 with Williams. However, despite a shock pole at a damp Interlagos last November, he found himself ousted in favour of heavily funded Pastor Maldonado.

Force India 2011 F1 Car VJM04 Launched

The Mercedes powered Force India, twelfth and last Formula 1 team to launched its 2011 car on online, with the Silverstone-based outfit. Force India  becoming the second outfit to utilise a blade-style roll hoop design in 2011. The outfit opted to use its 2010 car during the first pre-season test at Valencia last week, but will give its new challenger a first run at the Jerez test that starts on Thursday.
