Vettel secures pole on home ground

Sebastian Vettel qualified in pole position for tomorrow’s German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring. His lap of 1:11.212 was good enough to secure his 55th pole position, the fifth this year. Team-mate Kimi Raikkonen will start tomorrow’s race from third on the grid having set a best time of 1:11.547. Hamilton stays with Mercedes until the end of 2020

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and Lewis Hamilton today announced the agreement of a two-year contract extension for the 2019 and 2020 Formula One seasons. Since joining Mercedes in 2013, Hamilton has, to date, won three world championships and 44 Grands Prix with the team.
