GP2 driver Sergio Canamasas will take part in straightline testing for Caterham in France on Thursday.

Canamasas, 27, races for Caterham's eponymous sister team in GP2 and has yet to score a point in 2013.

It will be the first time Canamasas has driven a Formula 1 car.

"Taking part in the aero test with the F1 team is another step in my development and it's good to have the chance to help the team continue the progress they've made so far this year," he said of his opportunity to get behind the wheel of the CT03.

"With no GP2 activity until Silverstone at the end of June I can fully focus on my F1 work for the next few weeks."
