Button tops final practice session

By on Saturday, November 24, 2012

Jenson Button finished at the front of the 60th and final practice session of the 2012 season.

Button finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton.

The Force India duo of Paul di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg were 6th and 7th, while championship challenger Fernando Alonso could manage only eighth place when teams undertook qualifying simulations.

It was a bad session for Lotus's Kimi Raikkonen. The Finn exited Turn 3 on his first flying lap, only for his engine to fail amidst a plume of thick, white smoke.

There was also a frightening moment when Bruno Senna spun on the exit of Juncao. The Brazilian speared across the circuit and narrowly missed the accelerating Michael Schumacher.

FP3 stayed dry for the duration, with increasingly cloudy skies pointing towards the chance of rain in qualifying.
