Jenson Button says that sixth place at the Malaysian Grand Prix exceeded McLaren's expectations.
Button started the race from tenth on the grid but made progress to collect a top six finish, just ahead of Williams's Felipe Massa.
"It went better than expected, I think sixth is better than we’d have thought on Friday," Button told BBC Sport.
"It was a good controlling race but the whole team and the guys did a great job with the strategy.
"You have to control when to push as if you push at some points you overheat the rears. It was a tough race and bloody tiring, I think we got the best out of the car but we need some upgrades."
