The second pre-season test of the campaign takes place this week at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which has been the home of the Spanish Grand Prix since 1991.

The circuit has traditionally been Formula 1's go-to testing venue and the track will play host to the sport for much of the next two weeks, with the four day affair repeated next week, prior to the Australian Grand Prix.

The circuit will also play host to a two-day post-race test in May.

Nine teams will be in attendance this week, with Force India bringing its 2014 car as the squad attempts to ready its VJM08 in time for next week's running.

As is the norm at Formula 1 testing, each team in attendance will field one car, meaning that drivers will share track time.

Lewis Hamilton will kick off proceedings for Mercedes before Nico Rosberg takes over on day two. The reigning World Champion will return to the W06 Hybrid for the third day prior to his team-mate rounding out the test for the German squad.

Ferrari will hand the first two days to Kimi Raikkonen before Sebastian Vettel takes over for the weekend; McLaren will adopt a similar approach with Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso, with the latter piloting the MP4-30 on Saturday and Sunday, much to the delight of local fans.

Susie Wolff will receive a day in Williams' FW37 when she takes to the track on Thursday, before regular drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa take over for the remainder of the test.

Force India will hand track time to Mercedes reserve driver Pascal Wehrlein, with the young German to pilot the squad's 2014 car on Thursday and Saturday.

GP2 Champion Jolyon Palmer will test for Lotus for the first time on Friday in his role as reserve driver.

The initial weather forecast suggests that conditions should be largely dry and bright. Temperatures will be warmer than at Jerez, with a high of 17°c expected.

Running will commence each day at 9am local time (GMT +1).
