Fernando Alonso reckons the upcoming sequence of races will provide a true test of the potential of McLaren's MP4-31.
McLaren occupies seventh place in the standings but was unable to add to its points tally in Canada and Baku, though is confident of an upturn in fortunes.
This weekend's Austrian Grand Prix begins a run of four races in five weekends, with the sport set for trips to Britain, Hungary and Germany.
"It's going to be challenging, but in terms of performance it will be a good test for us, as we will go to quite different circuits," Alonso said.
"Starting here [at the Red Bull Ring], then Silverstone is very demanding on efficiency and power, it will be good to check where we are exactly after two difficult races in Canada and Baku.
"I expect us to keep growing, bringing new parts to the car and moving closer to the top teams, and going away from the middle teams and being consistently in the points."
