2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Pre-Season Testing Comparison: 2008 vs. 2009
1.In the testing trim that resulted in the fastest laps during both sessions, the new 2009 cars are faster at this point of the year than the 2008 cars were twelve months ago. Everyone has made time and are now lapping quicker.
2.The biggest gainers are Brawn, who over their previous pace as Honda, have improved by a whopping 3.733s.
3. The smallest gain by any of the teams goes to McLaren, who have only improved by 0.440s.

"'McLaren in emergency talks over performance'
The McLaren team held a crisis meeting at their base in Woking yesterday, it has been revealed. Lewis Hamilton joined the meeting after returning from the Barcelona test to join team-mate Heikki Kovalainen, Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh and senior members of the team's technical crew."

I'm so relieved. Now all we need is for Ferrari to be shamefully slow as well when they all turn up in Oz, and that will be that.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

i doubt ferrari will be slow (though i would like that to happen as well ). if anything, they might be even the ones who are sandbagging.

This is all a big conspiracy by McLaren!!! Seriously though, it'll be a boring season if Ferrari doesn't have anyone else to battle with. I doubt BMW can and according to Kubica, Brawn GP might be a threat to BMW this season .

It seems to me this
Ferrari >> BMW-Toyota>Renault>Brawn>McLaren>Red Bull>Williams>Force India>Toro Rosso

Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
At the moment it sounds more like Brawn GP is over a second ahead of Ferrari. Plus Ferrari's reliability woes will prevent them from finishing anywhere in the first races which is enough for McLaren to catch up. Toyota seems pretty consistent but they don't exactly have top-notch drivers. Funny that the ones without KERS are doing just fine while the ones with KERS have all kinds of problems.
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
True, there's no point having speed should there be no reliability, like the MP4/20. McLaren, should they be slow, should catch up by the European season.

After reading massa's comment about ballast ....
Brawn >> BMW <> Ferrari
Brawn >> BMW <> Ferrari

Brawn>BMW/Toyota/Ferrari>Williams>Renault/Red Bull/McLaren>Force India/Toro Rosso.
This seems to me to be the groups of speed and performance at the moment. I think and hope that Brawn's preformance is genuine.

We're somewhere towards the front of the group that will be lapped by Brawn GP.

After all the speculation last year, anyone reckon Nando will be kicking himself for not joining Honda...
