How impressive that Ferrari is so consistent in long runs. Massa has beaten last year's fastest lap not one but many times. If they don't experience any technical woes, we might see a prancing horse domination. We have seen lots of time that qualification is important but not decisive. Looking up tyres, especially rear tyres, will be the achilles heel in this season and gues who can look after their tyres most.
Last year they showd massive dominance during the test in Bahrein, and what did they achieve in Melbourne?
Mate, I've already pointed out that they shouldn't have technical glitches. They had sheer pace in Australia but couldn't maximize it on the day. You're right that you have to finish to finish first but what I say is somewhat different that they are again very consistent in long runs meaning they will be very strong as race pace.

Ferrari's got race speed no doubt, but it's exactly the technical glitches I'm worried about. Not only KERS, but they've constantly got some other problems too.

For Ferrari, Toyota and BMW, test sessions are over. They must pack their freight on March 19th so they have one week to remedy all of their gremlins, for particularly Ferrari. Why they seem to be so strong may be due to their excess mileage compared to their rivals. In other words, they must be ready-to-be-packed at the end of today.

Other teams have 1 more week test session which will help them to improve their cars. McLaren and Brawn may exploit these sessions more than others so McLaren may get rid of their rear grip woes and Brawn GP may improve their reliability.

It's a bit nail biting time for Ferrari, having 2 or more KERS problems, 1 hydraulic problem throughout all test sessions, afair. With such a tight pack, they cannot afford to retire from mechanical or electrical reasons as in much race as last year. They should sort all of their reliability gremlins out, at least at factory until March 19th.

Williams have been so quite until today which saw Rosberg topped the time sheets in the morning with 1:19.774. It appears to be their qualification pace and quite promising actually. Renualt have fallen back as Alonso said in AS newspaper "It's obvious that there are three or four teams ahead of the rest. I had a lot more doubts last season because the car was not going well. Ferrari, Brawn, or BMW are, right now, unreachable." Albeit, Alonso always says the same in the begining of every season, even in 2007 when he was in McLaren.

The Fern and Renault appear to be a little off the pace today, must not be doing any "glory runs".

Also interesting that the 2 top runners by almost a second

1. N. Rosberg Williams FW31 1:19.774 56 pit
2. R. Barrichello Brawn GP BGP 001 1:19.971 +0.197 74 pit

Are both in DIRE need of new sponsors...

A 1m18.9???? That's an incredible time,Brawn are becoming very threatening for the bigger teams.Kubica doing 128 laps is very impressive, they may well be the team to beat in Australia.
