Spa is ridiculous expensive!! Really, at least a place at a grandstand, you have to pay at least €300 for a weekend! A place on the grass is also too expensixe for what you get, you're at the fastest place of the track, you don;t see a thing! Spa = ridiculous! Let's hear it for the Ring and Monza!!Fr0ZzZeN wrote:Go to Spa, its a brilliant place. Just hope it doesn't rain :P

It is expensive but to me it's the best race circuit and that matters more than the expense.

Re: My GP for 2009
Tonight we're going to discuss which grandstand we'll be taking.. It's 5b or 6.. We want to see the cars where Alonso overtook Massa in 07. But I don't know if it's 5b or 6.. Can you help me, I'm talking about the Nürburgring.

Im an Aussie (Australian) so I will of course be going to Round 1 - I cant wait!!! Got my grandstand seats with views of turn 1/2 (plenty of action there) ...
Im so jealeous of you people living in Europe, plenty of GPs to choose from. But in saying that more and more are poping up this side of the world now.

Re: My GP for 2009
The Australian dollar has been on a wild ride over the past 12-18 months so that changes things heaps ... But ill try to convert to Euros**joostlamers wrote:Is down under expensive?Heath wrote:Im an Aussie (Australian) so I will of course be going to Round 1 - I cant wait!!! Grand Prix Tickets:
4 Day General Admission = AU $175 ..... 88 Euros
4 Day Grandstand Ticket = AU $379-$639 ..... 191-322 Euros
Accomodation:
Im not an expert in this area as Im currently living within walking distance of Albert Park. But id estimate between AU $200-$400 a night ... 101-202 Euros a night ... depending on how nice a hotel you wanted to stay in.
Flights:
This would probably be the killer for you guys over there as its such a LONG way away. I think flights from here to London return are about AU$1800 ..... 910 Euros. But thats from our end so you'd have a better idea than me what it costs to get to Australia.
Cost of Food:
Like ALL Grand Prix its very expensive to buy your food on circuit. Eg: Hamburger + Water Bottle would cost maybe $10-$15 ..... 5-7 Euros.
** Prices based on todays (Mar-04) conversion of 1 Euro = AU $1.98 **
Hope that helps and gives some idea what you'd be up for if anyone decides to come to Melbourne for the Grand Prix one day ... GO WEBBER!!!!
Re: My GP for 2009
4 day ticket? Do they do stuff on thursday as well in Aus?
Re: My GP for 2009
Yeah mate, its a full 4 day program at Albert Park. In the past on Thursday there has been Practice, Qualifying and Race 1 for the minor support categories which has been heaps of fun. But this year there seems to be a few more supprt events so Thursday only going to have time for Prac/Qualifying - still lots to see and do though. What it means is that Friday, Saturday, Sunday is non-stop racing!!!Fergie1 wrote:4 day ticket? Do they do stuff on thursday as well in Aus?
Support Races - v8 Supercars, Australian GT, Aussie Racing Cars, MINI Challenge, Formula Ford, Formula 5000 ... and also, Historic Demonstration, and The Ultimate Speed Comparison
Australian GP Website ... grandprix.com.au
Event Timetable ... formula1.com/races/in_detail/australia_805/event_timetable.html
And also on Wednesday afternoon "GP Advantage" ticket holders (loyal fans that book tickets 6 months or so before the event) get a huge session in pit lane watching the F1 teams setup the garages and cars. Drivers are interviewed and sign some autographs for the fans ... Its a really great way to start the weekend.
Re: My GP for 2009

Re: My GP for 2009
Your like my sister who's counting down the days before she goes on a school skiing trip to Austria in the Easter holidays(they're driving from London to Austria-crazy).Maybe Phil you should draw 172 circles, and colour 1 in for every day that passes...
