Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
wtf?????? Never heard or seen that idea before.Surely they know already about the airfloe, and if they don't its hardly indicative of great aerodynamics is it?
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Well what happens in a simulaotr or wind tunnel is not a complete indication of a real solution. So its just like a extra thing does as it does not take extra time or cost too much.
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Wow, thats actually a clever idea, but still, going that far for aerodynamics?
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
i saw that aero testing with paint on a discovery channel program featuring c.a.r.t. or champcars, but they use small, scale model cars, about 1/8 scale or sumthing......but on the real car, it's really one of a kind!
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
Atleast that green is better than the orange McLaren had a few weeks ago...(and in testing before the 1997 season).
Re: 2009 Winter & Mid-season testing (Results and Pictures)
WHAT!!! The orange McLaren was gorgeous

LoL ? updates already began on teams :P
i laughed when i saw those !
PS : Teams who went to Bahrain , went because of possible rain on Jerez ... they got hit by a Sand Storm ! and the teams at Jerez got last day few rain drops and then today everything seems normal ... lol

McLaren explained this is a routine operation. "This is a common occurrence when testing new cars and is used to confirm the wind tunnel readouts."swca92 wrote:wtf?????? The green stuff on the Macca is oil
Also note the the test car is sprayed with green oil paint to mark the airflow around the car's bodywork. This method is often used to verify simulations from the wing tunnel and CFD tests and indicates McLaren's desire to clearly understand how the new front wing influences the car's airflow.
