Anyone got any advice for what subjects to take for A-Level? I've just been given my A-Level subjects subjects and their syllabuses and I was wondering if anyone on this forum had any tips/advice.

Well Maths is the common one and it helps in almost all areas. Other subjects depends on your interests and career choice.

Depends how scientific or academic you are, and what your favourite subject and your plans are..

If you're scientific, don't take more than 3 sciences - People at my school who took 4 or 5 (Bio, Chem, Physics, Maths + further maths/Enviro) found that to be such a drag.

4 Academic subs isn't quite as much workload as 4 scientific ones, but probably best to take 3 scientific and 1 academic or vice versa. That way you can't go too heavy on one or another. Just make sure you back up whatever your favourite subject is with something like it (History>English or Physics>Maths/Chem). It puts you doubly in the mindset, and you'll find similarities, helping you get a better understanding of tasks you do generally.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

At my school lab coats are £16.50 which is a rip off. I got a one week extension on my history coursework :C: so i have until 1 Dec rather than 24 Nov

I'm aiming for A* in every subject, but I doubt that'll happen.

Wish I'd taken politics. As for what else to take, Sociology's a b*** according to every one of my friends that did it. Languages are a lot of work, and if you haven't got a knack for it there's not much end-product (I took German, put far far more effort into it than into English or History, spent many more hours on it, revised for it fully, and still only got a C. English and History = A's). So a language, unless you're prepared to really prioritize it, isn't a gauranteed good mark. But then there's not much that is.. :pout:

Languages-no way.My current French teacher is abysmal and looks very reminiscent of "How very, very, dare you" from the Catherine Tate Show.My school doesn't do sociology, instead we have "Philosophy" which is basically RE.I might take economics, looks fairly interesting nd I'll get the required grades.

I'm in Year 9 in Tudhoe Grange, y'all probably don't know where that is and neither do I! Only that is 10 mins from where I live (I'm not good at Geography and don't pay any attention to places!). So i get a bus.
Its mixed, with no normal people who attend it. (Apparent for me and a few others) They're all weirdos and generally not nice people.
Lower and an Upper site, in which i have to go to both with is c**p. Especially with all this snow around, nearly fell about 6 times on Friday. :(
