A very interesting practice, seemingly McLaren has issues with the softer tyre compounds (similar to Ferrari's problems with the hard tyres at Shanghai). And obviously Renault is back to its form.

3 points.
1. Lewis loses most of the time in S2
2. Kimi did less laps than Lewis.
3. Heikki was poor.

Ferrari seemed to be nowhere 2 weeks ago at china and they still got second and third - it seems Renault spent more on 2008 than most of the other non-title-contending teams ; and given the limited fundsF1~Michi wrote:A very interesting practice, seemingly McLaren has issues with the softer tyre compounds (similar to Ferrari's problems with the hard tyres at Shanghai). Hamiltons problem is obviously in S2, he couldn't come in the 36 this session, don't know how that was in FP1, I believe his personal best was 36.9, but I don't know if he did that consitently...

McLaren drives with a low downforce setting, thus the good times at S1 and S3 and the bad time at S2.joostlamers wrote:Hamiltons problem is obviously in S2, he couldn't come in the 36 this session, don't know how that was in FP1, I believe his personal best was 36.9, but I don't know if he did that consitently...

No the rules say a gearbox must be used for 4 consecutive events. An event is FP3, Quali and Race.iceman1 wrote:same gearbox on Fri as for Sat/SunFergie1 wrote:Thats odd because you can use another engine and gearbox on a Friday.
