Arrows_F1 wrote:The situation of Massa's move against Hamilton is clear and I think it was the reason why Bourdais was also penalised in the end. It was the same situation somehow.

But I'm still thinking about the start situation. Of course it was a dangerous move by Hamilton and the chaos could have been avoidable. But then I'm thinking what would have happened if something like this appeared at the back of the field (maybe Button brakes late and avoids crashing into Fisichella for example). Do you think Button would have been penalised then ? I can hardly imagine that.

This puts me not on the side of Hamilton. I'm as neutral as blizzard about this situation and I think Hamilton was penalised enough with falling back to the end of the field
correct me if im wrong, but i think it happened in the same GP. wasnt that the reason why DC crashed out? he was "squashed"? you can also see 2 cars being "pushed" wide at the back...

Wtf happened to Hamilton in the first lap? :oh:
He was fighting with Heikki and went off track in the same way as kimi had to go when he was fighting with kubica with few laps to go.
Thanks

F1.com actually did a little something we would expect them to do after every race , After watching the F~0~M footage I think that it was a 50/50 racing incident. Consider Alonso and Kubica’s explanation from the post race conference:

Alonso: I saw the people in front of me going quite aggressively into turn one. I myself locked the front tyres and I went a little bit wide. But I think it surprised us in a way as with the cold temperatures most of us started with the prime tyres and then we locked the tyres and everybody went long

Kubica: I braked really too late and if someone had managed to take the apex I would have for sure hit him but suddenly everybody was straight. I locked the front wheel quite a lot but managed to stay on the track, I think I was the only one who did really.

I didn't realize this before, but you can see from the F~0~M highlights on formula1.com that Hamilton and Alonso actually touched on the run down to turn 2. I'm not being dragged into arguments of whose fault it was, if people can even be bothered to watch it, but it was Hamilton on Alonso Magny-Cours/Hamilton on Alonso Monza style.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

Of course it's always about Alonso and Hamilton and their fights will be one of the best ones now and during the upcoming years.

Stewards questioned Webber over Massa move
"Fresh controversy over the stewarding of the Japanese GP has been sparked by the revelation that Felipe Massa's move past Mark Webber on the penultimate lap was investigated - but only to determine if the Red Bull driver ought to be punished for allegedly forcing the World Championship contender wide."
