A couple of years ago we saw it regularly at starts or after pit stops that drivers stalled their engines. I also reckognized that the engines don´t stall after spins anymore.

Would be nice if someone could answer this
thanks
Anti-stall. If the revs get too low the clutch automatically gets pulled. But as with Button in Bahrain 2007 that didn't happen as it didn't work for some reason.

Thanks for the response.
So in 1997 for example, they didn´t have anti-stall?

nice info f1anatic. Thank you.
Where did you get those engine pictures from? The Ferrari engine pics look like you´ve made them in your garage :)

Well theres a failsafe built in, if the engines stall it can cause Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage so if the revs are too low, the car's onboard computer automatically cuts the clutch in. If you watch Richard Hammond testing an F1 car on Top Gear, he explains it all.

Do you have a cap or video of that Top Gear session ? Or can you give the air date of that session ?

If I remember right, it was the anti-stall that DIDN'T allow him to start.

They use it when they engaged the 1st gear to move the car (from standstill) when the start of the race or get out from their garage
yep, this is the correct one, and operated by the hand
