Anyway Renault looked dreadful today.They were slow in every sector,and when your THAT slow your not hiding genuine pace.

Looking at FP2 results I am happy that he finished first.BMW surprised me, but who knows what fuel load they were carrying.Lets wait till tomorrow for FP3,hopefully the weather dosen't plays spoil sport.

Not in Monza... here the fastest car wins and that's the whole story... Sukuza is a quite different circuit. In Monza you don't have how to defend a position again a faster car... there are two points too wide, before and after the parabolica...

My point is at Monza you have the slipstream,which will hopefully compensate for the aerodynamic turbulence.We've seen more overtaking at Monza than at most tracks in recent years.

Renault's take on their lowly positions. Apparently high fuel load for P2. But surely most others were doing that too??

"Today we concentrated on building on the work that we did here during the test," said Alonso. "The weather affected our programme, but we have still been able to make some progress. I am still confident and we should be able to improve further tomorrow morning before qualifying."

Nelson Piquet commented, "I did not do as much running as I would have ideally liked today. It's a shame but it's not too much of a problem because we made good progress in the test here three weeks ago and everybody had to cope with the same track conditions. I'm now focussed on making the most of the final free practice session tomorrow morning so that we can approach qualifying in the best shape possible."

Engineering chief Pat Symonds added, "Time loss today due to the extreme weather was not really too much of a problem as we had three days of testing here recently. As always, we had a few things to finish from the test and so we consequently ran with a really high fuel load during P2. Taking this into account, we feel we are in a pretty normal position for a Friday."

I can do the German version, you can chant in Swedish "Jag vill ha regn på Monza" - easy ) Though according to the weather reports rain dances seem unnecessary - we don't want to flood the track completely, do we?

True, maybe we don't want Fuji levels of rain. But you know on GP weekends when rain is forecast (like half the GPs this year) it dissappoints, like Magny-Cours, and Germany (where the GP2 feature race was funny as hell).

OFF TOPIC Question: how does the "a" sound with that circular accent thing above it? I know that ä sounds like "eh" in German, is this different? And in which case, how phonically does it sound?

Track looks wet, huh? Plumes of spray before Ascari, the second chicane is catching people out.

Yep, we did the rain dance far too well for FP1, better take it a bit more careful for the race or we'll end up having all race behind the SC!

OFF TOPIC again: å sounds like English a in "all", ä sounds like English a in "at". It's easy! (and don't ask me about ö because there's no sound in English like it)

The Renault looked really bad today, Fernando was really struggling, in Lesmo 2 he mad a great correction from oversteer and then made a southern european gesture Great driver.

I hope he makes it to Q3, his whole season is a complete shame, even when he drove solid but worldclass like in Spa his car isn´t good enough for a podium.

I don´t understand why Ferrari extended Kimi´s contract, but I hope it will turn out to be the right decision. He just needs to get his "killer instinct" back.

Wet qualifying, dry race would be interesting, but I hope it stays dry on sunday, Monza in the rain isn´t fun at all, possibility of some major offs, that wouldn´t be nice.

I predict Hamilton on pole, the tyres suite the McLaren better, but Felipe will beat Kovalainen.
