What is the story behind your nickname?

Post by Ali » 04 Sep 2008, 08:12

My current one is my real name but the old one "xyneid" is the title of my science-fiction story. In this story, people creates a fifth dimension, which is called xyneid, where you can store your long-term memories and experiences. It's like floating hard disks for everyone in the society. Doing so, you can use your brian more efficiently and become much clever.

There are some nicknames in the forum I really want to know what they mean. Can you share with me?

Well... I love fishing. And I'm from Finland. Pike in finnish is ''Hauki''. And with raw translation, ''Haukinen'' means ''Pikey''.

Suntrek is the name of a dog, a whippet. He wasn't my dog (he's dead now) but I liked him very much, a very racy dog.

The original Suntrek:

I was a big fan of the Arrows team. Even if i missed most of their history (just followed them in late 2001 and the rest of 2002). When I joined this forum, I thought about a fitting nickname and finally I came to Arrows and then I just put the F1 behind it.

I wanted a name which wasn't anything like mine, and was also a fairly harsh, neutral name. I'm fed up of being judged in real life on crappy nicknames people have thought up for me (not mentioning them here). So I wanted something that would have a bit of mystique and authority about it. Plus I love crashes and incidents.

Of course, when I say a harsh name, I didn't envisage becoming a mod. :p
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

raikkonen4ever, I choose this nickname because I'm really a big Kimi Raikkonen fan since he started his Formula 1 career back in 2001. I was amazed by his ability to drive a Formula 1 car with just 20/21 Grand Prix experience in the lower category. He continues to impress me up until now. So I think, I will be support Raikkonen forever. :)

Mine's a very obscure one. When I was about 6 or 7 one of my cousins liked the Welsh pop group Catatonia(The female lead singer ended up on a British reality TV show last year getting off with an ex soap actor and looked foolish),and would play their CD'S at every oppourtunity. The only song I liked, cos the band were generally dreadful, was called "Sweet Catatonia".So the "swca" stands for that.92 is the year I was born
