What are the best drives in F1 history?

I'm surprised everyone forgot to mention Mansell's storming through the field at Hungaroring in '89, eventually executing that cunning overtaking manoeuvre on Senna and Johanssen in the same time. Awesome! It reminds me of Hakkinen's antics with Schumi & Zonta in Belgium in 2000, another classic drive:)

I´ve re-watched Hockenheim 2000 yesterday, man what a drive by Rubens!
He stormed through the field in the dry from 18th to third in a couple of laps, and was even better in the wet. Amazing drive, one of the very best of all time.

I'm only 18. But I watched loads of good races that my uncle taped, and anything really recommended, I've D/L'd or seen on YT.

I think the Golden age of F1 seems to me to be like 1980-1983. That whole Jones/Piquet/Regazzoni/Watson/Rosberg/Lauda/Prost era. But I've only been able to find highlights of these races and would love to see full ones.

As for races like Senna's and Schumi's amazing ones, I can only feel I can judge them properly if I watch them fully, which is why I can't really judge Senna's achievements, because tragically, not many of his full races are on YT and I don't DL much these days, but I felt able to add the 1996 Spanish Grand Prix (which I have watched) of Schumi's.

On German Pay-TV they are showing a lot of classic races from the 80´s and 90´s.
It´s called "Die besten Grand Prixs" - The best Grand Prixs. They show about 50% of the race. Usually the first couple of laps uncut and the final laps uncut and in between they cut together some incidents and overtakings.

Ich wurde classiche GP's lieben, zu sehen. (Ich spreche nicht gut Deutch, aber ich verstehe Deutsch, und meiner Meinung nach, "Die besten Grands Prixs" ist klar zu meiste Leute.. )

I think ESPN do much the same thing with vintage F1 and CART/IndyCar races. Shame I don't have ESPN. I hope the BBC do the same thing when they take over from ITV, but I doubt they will.

Right, if you want my opinion i think the 1985 and 86 were great, in 85 you have 8 diferent race winners, 86 the turbo engines were at their full potential with most of them having more than 1000 hp. Then i choose the early 90`s, the 91 season you have a lot of diferent engines configurations , each of them with his unique sound, and 1993 is problably the year i have the best memories, specially some Senna`s performances with an inferior car. I could give you an extensive list of "must see" events osweat:. One of the best things to review the old days are the DUKE videos, the f1 seasons reviews, and as a brit you`ll get them easily.

Senna : almost every race, especially Donington 1993, Brazil 1991 and 1993, Monaco 1984-1993, Suzuka 1988-1992, Adelaide 1991 - 1993, and some impossible poles from him
Hamilton : Silverstone 2008, Canada 2007, Sepang 2007 (excellent trick move on Massa)
Alonso : San Marino 2005, and few races I forgot.
