Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 German Grand Prix
Massa looks to have the edge on Kimi.
Why are people running so massively wide at Turn 10? I thought that was a flat corner, but Kubica, Heidfeld, Webber, Piquet, Glock and Trulli all ran at least 10-15 metres wide there.

No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

Great lap from Lewis but there is no denying that he seemed slower than the Ferrari's on the longer stints.
Mclaren For pole But Ferrari's are faster on race pace.

Kubica said on radio that the car has massive understeer and he cannot take flatout the 10th and 11th corners; he also said that they have to do something fast about it because in race trim, and even quali trim, this means that the tires will be finish pretty soon.TwistedArmco wrote: Why are people running so massively wide at Turn 10? BWM with a race win this season should be trying harder on their home race. I do not have the luxury of watching it live on TV/lives tream to comment on the action itself..but their lap times are dismal: 1 sec behind after the 2nd practice.

there's a chance of rain for qualifying, which always livens things up.

Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 German Grand Prix
isn't this a sorry sight: the straight heading up to the 3rd chicane of the old circuit
and it gets worse, this is what ostkurve looks like now

if you want more hockenheim pictures, go on google earth, find hockenheimring and look at the pictures of the old part of the circuit.
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 German Grand Prix
Don`t know why they didn`t kept it for random racing, dtm or whatever, it was a great slipstream kind of circuit, now it seems they`re going to plant potatoes or something. It was great to see the drivers struggling in the stadium sector cause their wings were so low for those long straights, a classic circuit down the toilet. Real shame
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 German Grand Prix
I think Glock needs to remember F1 cars aren't meant to fly.
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 German Grand Prix
just looked at the weather predictions - cloudy qualifying, showery race?!

Ah, thanks, I didn't catch Kubica saying that. I did hear Vettel complaining about the cold situation though, so that ould very much explain it.alin wrote:Kubica said on radio that the car has massive understeer and he cannot take flatout the 10th and 11th corners; he also said that they have to do something fast about it because in race trim, and even quali trim, this means that the tires will be finish pretty soon.TwistedArmco wrote: Why are people running so massively wide at Turn 10?
