Massa once again proving to be the master of the most boring circuits in F1! I know it's early stages, but I'm predicting he'll win on Sunday.
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 French Grand Prix
Hola! Massa won the 1. practice with 1:15.306. 2.Hamilton, 3.Kovalainen, 4.Raikkönen, 5.Kubica, 6.Alonso behind him.

1st FP Diary:
- Cool Massa
I didn't understand what Kimi was doing
Lock-up day for Hamilton
Trulli spins again
Renault strong but Alonso's engine blows at the end (ne penalty though 'cause it's Friday)

Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 French Grand Prix
Low fuel, i think that he was testing qualifying setups, while seemed like all others focused to race setups, that could be reason for that huge margin to others. So don't count Kimi or Heikki out yet. We have seen, that Massa makes easily mistakes, more easily than Kimi or Heikki when under heavy pressure...Liffonmelsmork wrote:Massa once again proving to be the master of the most boring circuits in F1! Thx for the results, I missed the session, but I'm going to watch the next one for sure.xyneid wrote:1st FP Diary:

But what was with Kimi then? Or do you just mean 4th place?

Haha yes he really is! Turkey, Spain, Bahrain, and Magny Cours lol, all not too spectacular circuits.Liffonmelsmork wrote:Massa once again proving to be the master of the most boring circuits in F1! I know it's early stages, but I'm predicting he'll win on Sunday.

Not a solid drive or fast lap, I mean. He might have been doing race simulation. But it's early days yet, nothing is certain.sejtur wrote: But what was with Kimi then? Or do you just mean 4th place?
Yet, I don't agree with you that Massa is that weak. He improved himself and started to drive consistently. In Canada, he lost valuable points due to bad strategy and fule rig problem. He's also strong in Monaco, except that a little mistake. He's a really threat, don't play down him.

Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 French Grand Prix
I didn't downplay him. He isn't weak at all, his race at Canada was phenomenal, just like at Silverstone last year. He is a threat for everybody in the WDC. But I just found it funny that he most of time wins the most boring races.
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 French Grand Prix
In the second practice, on team radio, Kubica was told there will be a Safety Car period at the end of the session in order to test the new Safety Car regulation.

Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 French Grand Prix
Good pace from Massa so far, yep. But I must say that I am very positively surprised by Vettel as well. He's putting in some very good laptimes indeed!
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 French Grand Prix
Actually good pace has been coming from Raikkonen consistently as he's running long stints and his lap times are always low 1.16 and even 1.15.999, which made him 2nd at the moment. Massa is doing 6-lap or 5-lap runs. Kimi had 12-lap and 13-lap runs.
Btw, nearly all drivers went oof-track at the end of Estoril.
