2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
surely the grip will be different and the set-ups for those corners screwed up? i wouldn't be surprised if they each did 3 or 4 installation laps on the way to the grid trying it out- on lap 1 we could see aboslute choas- especially the first guys on the scene- it could get nasty
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Anyone who missed quali/want to watch it again- its on ITV4 (UK) now
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
I just hope we don't end up with an Indy '05 situation.I'll be very relieved to see a full race with no injuries to drivers, fans or marshals.
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
just watching webbers q2 shunt and he was only a few cm onto the marbles when he spun.
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
if the marbles situation continues then i wouldnt be surprised to see the marshals sweeping up the track during an inevitable SC period, or bring out the SC to specifically deal with the situation.

Oh god that could well happen.swca92 wrote:I just hope we don't end up with an Indy '05 situation.I'll be very relieved to see a full race with no injuries to drivers, fans or marshals.

Praying for a dry race, and none or few SC-situations... Then no one can stop Hamilton, to be honoust, I don't expect a Hamilton win, that says my feeling... Can't help it

I'm hoping for the opposite.Rain eases the pressure on the track and makes a better race.Although I should support Hamilton as I'm English I'm fed up with Itv's bias of him and of him himself so here's hoping for rain
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Race will be boring without SC ..Weber - Massa - Heikki are in good position under SC :cheezy:

I'm really looking forward to Kubica's performance! He can keep a cool head, he's not daft. I think in changing conditions, Hamilton might have a hard time with him. I'm not convinced BMW have got the pace to keep up with the Ferraris and McLarens in unchanging, dry weather over the course of a race though. Hope I'm wrong.
Re: 2008 RBS Grand Prix du Canada , Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Race in Montreal without SC? Not a chance.
It's all about who is in the right position at the right time. Last year Hamilton was that guy, this time it might be someone else.

anyone sensible will have gone on a strategy that banks on a first lap safety car and reliant on there not being one at the exact time they need to pit. I think they're going to change the rules for Magny Cours- i read the rules, but it confused me a bit and they were just preliminary.

lol!, but maybe... http://www.crash.net/motorsport/f1/news ... anada.html

IT COST THEM $5.5 MILLION dollars to resurface the track before the race, now they've had to do some of it over again. Ouch!
