Kimi had gearbox problems and therefore couldn't drive much in P1. Let's see if they can fix his car to P2.

Raining in Istanbul?!
Re: 2008 Petrol Ofisi Turkish Grand Prix
Mark Webber hit the wall after a mistake at Turn 8 and the sesion is red flagged. Front suspensions of Red Bull are again highly damaged.
At the begining of the session, track was dump but now it's dry and every team is lapping with dry tyres.

Raikkonen did its best time with hard tyres while others with soft tyres. Hamilton did a 5-lap quali run at the final minutes of the session with soft tyres and he was about to set the fastest lap of the day but he lost a few tenths at Turn 8. Raikkonen and Massa, I guess, did race pace training with soft tyres during remaining 10 minutes at low 1.28's.

The race stewards investigated Fisichella's breach, which was believed to have happened right at the start of first practice in Istanbul when the Force India driver left the pits for an installation lap.
Following the investigation, the stewards have decided that the Italian will be demoted three places on the grid for the race.

Darn, I missed most of the action today  Only saw the last 20 mis of FP2.Just checking the news...
What happened to Kimi's gearbox in the morning? Did he stop on track or sth?
Anyway, I think the Macs are looking pretty good here. Hamilton looks very good for pole tomorrow. And Heikki looked good too. They certainly seem to have the pace here.
From what I've read, Massa is looking pretty good also, as he was consistantly fast on his runs, but Kimi's times seemed all over the place in FP2, esp. towards the end. He just can't seem to find the sweet spot with the setup. Well, running just one timed lap in the morning sure doesn't help with that :tired: Oh, well...

Actually he did only a formation lap and dived into the pit. Team said gearbox was not changed, they just repaired it.Lilellatho wrote:Darn, I missed most of the action today  Only saw the last 20 mis of FP2.Just checking the news...

LOL, how can you run a red light in practice? And wasn't the action in FP1 quite slow to get going?xyneid wrote:Fisichella gets three-place grid penaltyFergie1 wrote:Did a Force India run a red light at the start?
Anyway, Xyneid, how come you're not at the track? Are you going tomorrow or on Sunday? I certainly would if I had a F1 race near my home town

Well, seeing he has a timed lap on the sheets, I guess he did do or atleast try to do a fast lap. Besides, Ferrari have done this before, going on a timed run straight out of the pits, with no installation lapxyneid wrote:Actually he did only a formation lap and dived into the pit. Yes I'll definitely go but I have lots of mountains of work to do. I'll be there on the circuit on Sunday. I hope it won't rain or it would ruin my dayLilellatho wrote:Anyway, Xyneid, how come you're not at the track? Are you going tomorrow or on Sunday? Thanks I'll take photo as mush as I can and watch the paddock with my binoculars :cheezy:Lilellatho wrote: Cool, have a great time on Sunday. And be prepared to tell us all the details :cheezy:

Nope, I used to live in Ankara before and not that much fun of F1. I didn't go to Istanbul and watch the race on circuit. I thought watching it from TV would be much more comfortable But now, I live in here and I feel I must do that at least one time in my life
