Ayrton Senna: Fourteen Years Later

Post by iceman1 » 01 May 2008, 13:16

Ayrton Senna
“If I ever happen to have an accident that eventually costs me my life, I hope it is in one go. I would not like to be in a wheelchair. I would not like to be in a hospital suffering from whatever injury it was. If I’m going to live, I want to live fully, very intensely, because I am an intense person. It would ruin my life if I had to live partially.”

McLaren wrote:
“Who is to say that he had not seen more, done more and learned more in his few years than many people do in a lifetime? To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one’s ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone."

Ayrton Senna lived a full life and lived more in 34 years than what many people live in 84 years. In that, we should be comforted.

Let us never forget Ayrton Senna, and remember him on this 14th anniversary of his death.

It's very interesting that almost all Formula 1 sites including Autosport and Formula1.com don't say anything about Ayrton Senna's anniversary. With one exception, as much as I can see, grandprix.com. Do they always forget what they used once?

R.I.P Ayrton.

And also R.I.P Roland Ratzenberger, 14 years ago 28th April. That guys death gets little recognition because Ayrton lost his life 2 days later.

Both tragic losses.

R.I.P Senna, was crying when i watched ur last race....
As I walked through it Sunday evening, I couldn’t help but be amazed by the scale of this operation and the thousands of man hours that go into entertaining us for a couple of hours, 17 times a year.

What is missing from F1 today is people like Senna, No disrespect to anyone but the drivers today are so young they lack experince, and they have lots of fueds between each other... but a lot of them are great!!
anyway RIP Senna

lamy after the start was involved in a horrific accident, my favorite pilot would die after a few laps!
was of the few not to want to run because the death of comrade in training ...
