As my quote only covers the engine and the gearbox, does he get a penalty?
don't think so, he is allowed to switch the engine on the friday, so he won't get a 10place penalty, don't know if he gets 5..

From the Regulations , teams are not allowed a spare car this season,So if the car is damaged to much they can build up the spare chassis to be used without Having any penalty

Well I'm sure Ferrari will be those to beat in the desert of Bahrain (desert... so prob.no rain...)
not very sure about BMW, think they might have problems with their car on this particular track and I see Rosberg more likely to be on Ferrari's and McLaren's heals in Manama

Let's see...

hopefully noone crashes, Hamilton already has... ;)

Let's hope for a thrilling race... viva F1 !!!

Hamilton won't get a penalty and he won't change to spare car since they are going to repair (!) his car.

Sorry, it's my personal opinion but this rule is simply silly!

Well I think mclaren will fight for 3rd and 4th place unfortend but hope I got it wrong this time:p

and I really think Rosberg will be a surprise and might go for the podium like Melbourne. But its a friday people play seek and hide so lets see after qualify.

You can't count FP2 today, since Alonso was hindered by Sutil on the only (two) fast laps on new softies he did at the end of practice. Renault surely isn't the fastest car, far from it  but it's hardly going backwards either.

Furthermore no one has ever won any races by getting into top 10 in Friday sessions.
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Renault is surely not going to win,
it will be already stunning if alonso finished top 6
I bet Piquet is again scoring 0 pts anyway

Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?
Yes, I don't think Malaysia was one time shot. I'm going for Massa Pole Position, but Kimi will win with Massa second.

Can Massa finally get a good result?
He will score his first points

What role is BMW Sauber going to play?
Like Malaysia, both drivers will be on the points 4th and 5th

Will there be rain?
This is F1 only desert event, a sandy region of little rainfall, extreme temperatures, and sparse vegetation. Rain does fall occasionally but not this time

Who crash into the barriers again?
My bet is on Hamilton, did it once do it twice. After the crash he's not in fit condition, will drive with extreme care and over do it.

From the FIA sporting regulations for this year wrote:
28) SPARE CARS, ENGINES AND GEARBOXES

28.1 Each competitor may have no more than two cars available for use at any one time during an Event. Any partially assembled survival cell will be deemed to be a car in this context if it is fitted with an engine, any front suspension external to the survival cell, bodywork, radiators, oil tanks external to the survival cell or heat exchangers.

28.2 Any driver who decides to use another car following the qualifying practice session, or whose car has a change of survival cell, must start the race from the pit lane following the procedures detailed in Article 38.3. Under these circumstances no restrictions on fuel load will be applied.
2008 F1 Sporting Regulations 14 of 43 22nd February 2008

28.3 No change of car is permitted after the start of the race.
A change of car will be deemed to have taken place once a driver is seated in his new car and such change may only take place in the team’s designated garage area.
seeing as it was just practice there is no penalty
