I guess it's easier if someone's a neutral F1 fan (or just British fan today ). Despite of disappointment when it comes to my countrymen, this was one of the most action filled Australian GP and any GP for that matter that I've seen. More of these please, Bernie..?

Kimi's comments after the race:

"For sure if you cannot finish the race it's not very good," Kimi told UK broadcaster ITV. "But I think we should still get one point because Rubens [Barrichello] went through a red light. It's better than nothing but obviously it is not what we wanted from here."

"I don't know what happened to engine we need to have a look but I went off when I tried to get past Kovalainen and did a spin and all sorts of things happened," he said.

"But in the end all those things don't matter if you don't finish the race so I hope we get that one point like we should and then we will go for the next race and try to do better. This is only the first race.

"The car itself was good when we were able to run on our own so I think we have a good car but not that good a race here. For sure this is not the best way to start, but we have plenty of races left and every point we can score is a bonus."

I can't tell you how much these comments have lifted my moral. :cheezy: Now this is the Kimi we know. Always admitting when he makes mistakes, not saying a single bad word about the team (even though they would fully deserve it) and keeping the hopes up. Way to go , Kimi.

Kimi is always a nice guy as Hamilton and Heidfeld. This was just a race of unforgettable for him. He was 15th before the race and in the race, he had the chance of victory. This would be a good come back, everything was perfect for him until that infamous move on Heikki.

Erm, I woldn't put Hamilton in the same spot as Kimi as far as what I said is concerned.
He is a very good driver but admitting to his own mistakes and team player he is not. Not after last year. Agree on Heidfeld though

Remember that after China and Brazil last year everyone was laughing at Hamilton. Now Kimi screws up and everyone's on him. That's how it goes in F1. You're as good as your last race result.

Fair enough, but that is probably the mentality of new F1 fans or simply incredibly biased people. You don't lose your skills after a race or so.
But that wasn't my point in my last post and you know what i'm talking about.

I heard that last time Ferrari was without points after the opening GP in 1992. So this would have been their worst for 16 years.

Well, even though i don't like the way the press handles things, I think the situation isn't looking too good for Ferrari atm. Mistakes aside, their reliability is hurting them badly. Two cars retired for mech problems, fuel pressure problems in quali and an expired Ferrari engine for Bourdais, that isn't looking good.

And imagine that they have to use the same engines for the next 5 or 10 years...

This is what the engine freeze does. Who would have thought that Mercedes Benz manages to build a solid engine at the right time?

Can aerodynamic and mechanical distinctions for two teams while using the same engine make any difference on the reliability and durability of that engine? Can aerodynamically challanged cars use the engine more harshly and blow up easily? -as far as customer cars and engine-suppliers are concerned-

So where does this leave Kimi? Will he still be able to get a new engine and a new gearbox in Malaysia if he is classified as having finished the race, despite being 5 laps down and not taking the chequered flag?
