2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
Re: 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
So surprised about Webber's good form, although he was a long way off Lewis' benchmarch. Perhaps higher up the midfield pack than was expected?
Re: 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
The only teams to get both drivers in the top in both practice sessions were McLaren, Ferrari and Toyota and then Red Bull did it in P2
 yeah The physics teacher was angry , asked me 3 questions without the right answer from meSuntrek wrote:Hope you didn't fall asleep in school!iceman1 wrote:Lewis was on softs, because kimi did his best on mid.tyres
I have to go to school Now , cya
All the best times in FP2 were set on softs, except for Kimi and Alonso. At least as far as I could see, didn't get to see them all.
Re: 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
this has nothing to do with his "form". Practice times are pretty much random. Don't expect Kimi to be 6th in qualifying or the race, don't expect Webber to be 2nd, he most likely did a low fuel run. and don't expect BMWs to be 12th or 15th - they just run different programs for FPs.sparra wrote:So surprised about Webber's good form, although he was a long way off Lewis' benchmarch. Here is what Webber says: http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/n ... 2807.shtml

Webber did an ultra-low fuel run, some interesting radio with his crew before he went out about dialling out the understeer on the 3rd gear corners 5, 7, 11

just not getting any conclusions before quali..
Re: 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
Webber's stunt was PR. Simple as that. Remember Ralf's pole at Suzuka? Same thing.
I have to sit back and admire how amazing the McLaren is at tracks. It seems that it ALWAYS has the easiest time acclimatizing itself to every track. The Ferrari may ultimately be faster ( i really hope it is!), but the McLaren does less work. amazing.

Great lap times by Fisichella.
Re: 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
I'm surprised how quick Button is at Honda, and how slow Williams/BMW/Renault were. Some teams(Force India and probably Webber) were low-fuel false times
Re: 2008 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix
do not be mistaken... teams like that don't go after cheap publicity. you won't know their pace until the race itself. their times in FP1 and FP2 are meaningless.swca92 wrote:I'm surprised how ... slow Williams/BMW/Renault were.

well hamilton was on the softer tyres than webber so he was understandably faster but we will see in qualifying todaycolor wrote:do not be mistaken... teams like that don't go after cheap publicity. you won't know their pace until the race itself. their times in FP1 and FP2 are meaningless.swca92 wrote:I'm surprised how ... slow Williams/BMW/Renault were.
webber is a pretty straight up guy being a aussie he tells it how it is and he said they are about 4-5th fastest out there so id expect him to be about there after qualifying id say lewis will be pole im gonna say kimi 2nd and hekki 3rd massa 4th

Webbo was also on softs, but he set his fastest time much earlier in the session than the other fast times. Most likely it was a PR run, being in Australia n' all, but still kudos to him!marty wrote:well hamilton was on the softer tyres than webber so he was understandably faster but we will see in qualifying todaycolor wrote:do not be mistaken... teams like that don't go after cheap publicity. you won't know their pace until the race itself. their times in FP1 and FP2 are meaningless.swca92 wrote:I'm surprised how ... slow Williams/BMW/Renault were.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

That ITV link seems that won't be useful to watch FP3, so if anybody knows about another link let us know
