Re: If you had a say in .........
I think that a test driver like de la Rosa would be a good teammate with Hamilton. The other drivers are #1 or will be #1 next year. I chose Sutil since it was the only option that would seem reasonable, but I don't 100% agree with that. De la Rosa would be the best choice!
Re: If you had a say in .........
Dunno if McLaren will trust De La Rosa anymore, following the espionage story. Also, I do not think that he's worth of a Mclaren drive, either. I'm sure they can find better drivers.
Re: If you had a say in .........
Personally, i think Pedro Da La Rosa did nothing wrong or something against mclaren.maltafan wrote:Dunno if McLaren will trust De La Rosa anymore, following the espionage story. Also, I do not think that he's worth of a Mclaren drive, either. I'm sure they can find better drivers.
Secondly mclaren doesn't need better driver but better team-player ..helpful when it matters like massa.

Re: If you had a say in .........
That is if they are really pushing Hamilton as the number one driver. Traditionally McLaren has wanted to have both drivers as good as possible to get the maximum points, which also helps winning the WCC. It has had its problems, though, as we saw with Kimi & Montoya and now with Lewis & Alonso so maybe they should reconsider their driver choices.zack wrote: Personally, i think Pedro Da La Rosa did nothing wrong or something against mclaren.

Personally and in the F1 fan's point of view it would be nicer to have two good drivers and not team orders, but as a team it would probably be more beneficial for McLaren to concentrate it all on one guy.

Re: If you had a say in .........
rosberg but i doubt it'll happen. it would be pretty cool to see button there too
Re: If you had a say in .........
toughy this one, i'd choose rosberg though for his experience
Martinez 10
Re: If you had a say in .........
due to Hamilton's position, only drivers who need a certain improvement in their car would consider a move to McLaren.
I'm sure Rosberg wouldn't like to play 2nd fiddle to Lewis.

Re: If you had a say in .........
I think dream teams are terrible. Look at the US men's basketball team in the last few years or Real Madrid when the team was buying big name players. Big names, or the creation of dream teams, are the worst and stupidest way to make a team. If you want to have a team that wins points and makes good, there should be a combination of good and amazing players. The amazing players won't feel threatened with a subpar teammate and the subpar teammate believes that they are being inspired and will take on a leadership role once the good teammate leaves. Just my $.02

I think they should make the decision at least before next year to make sure the new guy gets enough testing with McLaren's car.

Re: If you had a say in .........
rosberg but i doubt it'll happen as the contract problem.
Re: If you had a say in .........
Actually the contract itself is not a problem as they can be sold anyhow they like. But Williams said that they have no financial need to sell Nico as the team is in a better shape now.

Rosberg agrees new Williams deal

Looks like Nico just got a pay raise and we won't be seeing him at McLaren in the near future.
