So Lewis opted to not finish the lap. Interesting, but who would've thought there was so much time to be gained in S3?!

From BBC: So according to Mercedes co-team boss Paddy Lowe, it was Lewis Hamilton's decision to abort the lap. "He felt the lap was worse," says Lowe. "He bailed out, which was unfortunate as a lot of time was found in sector three."

Toto Wolff said that Lewis thought it was too wet to improve so he backed off .
