Vettel stops on track. Looks like end of FP1 for him.

@willbuxton: So, Seb reverts to the chassis he used in testing. And just as in testing, he has promptly stopped by the side of the track.

That tweet has 65 favourites and counting . It's going from bad to worse for RB. Mercedes look strong as expected; they've got the best engine and I dare I say chassis as well. On board that car looks planted! Not anywhere close to the amount of corrections on the Ferrari, or the timid understeer of the RB.

Hamilton's long run was superb, in average he was 0.9 sec faster than Ricciardo on the medium .

Chilton finishes the session on the gravel trap. The order looks like Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari. The fact that the Mercedes-powered cars looks slower than RB and Ferrari indicates that its the Mercedes chassis doing all the hard work for Lewis and Nico, not so much the engine. Merc will be unbeatable this year unless they slip-up big time.

Jenson Button was second fastest in morning practice and fell to seventh in the afternoon.

Which result best reflects McLaren's Barcelona pace...?

Here's a hint from Button:

"I had a friend call me this morning who's been in motorsport 14 years and he said 'is it as good as it looks?' and I replied 'mate... come on, it's practice, you know better than that...'"

Probably because he wasn't in a position to challenge for victories at the time...

I think this is going to be a dull race. Don't anticipate much of a Mercedes battle, and we have hard tyres. Going to be a procession.
