2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Really disappointed with Vettel and Hamilton retiring... Still, a brand new podium. Mercedes is too strong for now.

Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Will be interesting to see how Mercedes engine powered cars do at Malaysia. We saw today Hulkenberg being able to fend Alonso off for so long due to his pace on the straights.
I suspect with there being more of an emphasis on straight line speed in Malaysia we'll see the Mercedes powered cars be a bit more dominant.

Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Koba had rear brake failure. Electronic system didnt work with the Kers. Only had mechanical brakes.
Massa needs to apologise.

@adamcooperF1: FIA says @danielricciardo's car "has exceeded consistently the maximum allowed fuel flow of 100kg/h"
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Well Kobayashi initially admitted fault. Was nice to see a driver do that, but looks a bit silly now...mikhailv wrote:Koba had rear brake failure. Electronic system didnt work with the Kers. Only had mechanical brakes.

Not looking good for Ricciardo. Was really happy for him, great drives from him and Magnussen. To think Whitmarsh wanted to keep Perez...
Interesting race. Some good moments. I think only Mercedes can stop one of their drivers winning the championship. This is definitely their's to lose.
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Why would RBR/Renault knowingly allow above the fuel rate?
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
They wouldn't.mikhailv wrote:Why would RBR/Renault knowingly allow above the fuel rate?

They would see it on the data all race though so surely?
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
It's a strange one... you'd have thought so. Hopefully Ted is mistaken, like when he said the cars 'don't have spark plugs' during the race.
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
But would they be so stupid to not do anything about it? I mean that would be a new low... Especially after the FIA stressed that it results in a DSQ.mikhailv wrote:They would see it on the data all race though so surely?
However, it seems official that Ricciardo got disqualified. Rules are rules, so on one hand I agree with it. On the other it seems weird, but since no one else had a problem like this, you can't really blame it on the malfunction of the measuring system...

It is not official. Sky jumped the gun.
Re: 2014 FORMULA 1 ROLEX AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
The Hungarian websites were reporting it as official... My bad.
